This Juneteenth, we want to shine a light on EmpowHERto, an incredible nonprofit organization empowering young women and girls to embrace their voices and unlock their full potential. With a mission to foster leadership, confidence, and resilience, EmpowHERto is making a profound impact in the lives of future changemakers.
About EmpowHERto
EmpowHERto partners with girls and young women from underserved communities between ages 14 - 21, empowering them with the necessary tools to thrive and effect positive systemic change.

Janeen founded the first branch of EmpowHERto in Toronto in 2016, later bringing a chapter to Broward County in 2021. Both chapters of the organization are female founded and led.
EmpowHERto in Action
With a mission as broad and important as helping young girls unlock their true potential, Janeen has no shortage of work and has hit the ground running. Examples of past programming include holding a workshop for young women to connect with a therapist and practice letter writing exercises to practice expressing their feelings, hosting financial literacy classes, and providing a summer schedule of events and workshops including how to spot red flags in relationships.
How to Support
